Hello!

I m stuck. Could you help me with this sentence. "I have just one goal: serving my country at this difficult time." or "... in this difficult time." Which of these prepositions are correct?

Thanks in advance.

I greatly prefer "at this difficult time." I can t explain my reason; it just sounds better to me.

I would say the same "at" this time. With time we use at like when telling the time

Dear Dina,

You ask:

"At" or "In" --- "Which of these prepositions is correct?"

In the sentence as given, the correct answer is:

"AT this difficult time".

"Oxford Dictionary of English, 2005", page 98.
AT preposition. Expressing the time when an event takes place: "The children go to bed at nine o clock"; "His death came at a time when the movement was split".
