Problem with a question

Good evening from Spain!

Preparing a university entrance exam for my students, I ve come across a sample exam that contains this question:

Write the correct question for the underlined words:

- She didn t realize until the following day.

I don t know exactly what to say, since I guess it s not a very commmon type of question.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks a lot.

I would go with "When did she realize?" It s a strange question out of context because realize is a transitive verb; it needs an object and doesn t have one in this sentence. If you have context, you can say this.

For example, "Did you hear? Mrs. Blank s husband was caught driving drunk.
No! Why didn t she stop him from doing something so stupid?
She didn t realize until the following day."
The object is implied: that the husband was driving drunk.
