Of course, we should note that the letter y in the above cases is actually a vowel since it has the �i � sound and not the �j � sound (as in yellow).

The letter Y can be regarded as both a consonant and a vowel.

Yes, Pilar, you could have used "schmaltz", which does have only one vowel.
