Hi,

Get them to draw a diary and fill it in for next week with lots of activities (sport & cultural).  Then either put them in pairs or small groups or simple work together if the class is not too big choose one person to be questioned (student 2):

This exercise is more for present continuous (for the future) and will

Example:

Student 1:  What are you doing on Saturday afternoon?

Student 2:  Im playing tennis with my sister.

Student 3:  What if it rains, whatll you do then?

Student 2:  Oh.., well go to the cinema.

Student 4:  What if the cinema is closed, whatll you do then?

Student 2:  Oh.., well go home and play video games?

Student 5:  What if theres a power cut, whatll you do then?

etc, etc, etc

My students have always loved this game and youd be surprised at what they invent!!

Have fun,

Janet

A couple of years ago, I bought a Magic 8 Ball on Amazon. You can read the post I wrote about it here.

If you like the idea of this activity, here is what you can do:
1) buy a Magic 8 Ball (it is not too expensive and you will not regret your purchase!)
2) or use the following site with your students (if you have an Internet connection): http://www.8-ball-magic.com/
3) or write the different possible answers on pieces of paper, put them in a box and ask your students to pick one once they have asked their question (you can have the list of all the possible answers here).
4) Download moravc s worksheet: she made an editable paper version of the Magic 8 Ball.

If you choose to do this activity, you ll see that all the students listen to each other!! I always tell my students that the questions must be funny and positive (no personal attacks!) I do this activity every year and it is always a success!
