I know "color by numbers", but not by a code.

yep. thought so.

well, for example when Ss have to colour a picture of a house and instead of numbers, "the code" is actual vocabulary, such as: window=blue, door=red...

I would probably say "Color according to the code".
 
Also, note that I spell color the US way, so don �t be confused by that.

indeed I use this style when texting , sometimes here too, just to save some virtual space...

so I refer to this style as an environmentally conscious style Geek Tongue

yesterday someone was complaining about posts that are too long, now
