A song for retired adults
|
Hello dear colleagues, I am going to teach a class of 8 intermediate students, they are either retired or almost retired people. I am supposed to teach them a song with a follow up writing activity (60 minute lesson). Although they are quite enthusiastic about their studies, they are rather shy at singing. Could you recommend me a nice happy song that I could use in class with a good follow up writing activity, related to their personal lives? Thank you!! |

For that age group and level, how about A - You re Adorable The lyrics are here. There are lots of links on Youtube. You could discuss the adjectives and find synonyms and antonyms. The writing exercise could be to write about someone they know/have known using some suitable adjectives. eg: using some of the words from the song, a series of adjectives in alphabetical order or using some antonyms. |

You can never go wrong with Frank Sinatra! My Way is perfect for Present Perfect and what you have achieved so far in life and things you have never tried, but still maybe like to try;) |

Here s a list of songs with many activities. You can also choose one of the Beatles songs. The choice is yours. Greetings from Greece,
