books for the summer
|
Could you please recommend me some books to read this summer? I like books which are easy to read, just to pass the time.
Some books I would recommend are:
- "The Secrets of Jin-Shei" , Alma Alexander - "The pillars of the earth" (and many others), Ken Follet - "The Cellar", Noah Gordon - "The Dream of Scipio", Ian Pears - "The History of Love", Nicole Krauss - "The elegance of the Hedgehog", Muriel Barbery - "A thousand Splendid Suns". Khaled Hosseini - "Kafka on the Shore " Haruki Murakami - "Norwegian Wood", Haruki Murakami - "Mutiny on the Bounty", John Boyne
Thank you very much,
Maria Jos

The trilogy by Katherine Pankol is quite entertaining. I am still reading the last one and I want to finish it as soon as possible, I want to know more. Thanks for helping us choose Yolanda

Anything by P. G. Wodehouse if you re reading because you enjoy the English language. Failing that, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini has to be one of the best books I ve ever read and it s a relatively easy read. Although it will break your heart. |

"The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho is awesome. You will enjoy it. I promise :) "Veronika Decides to Die" by Paulo Coelho is an outstanding novel indeed. "Twilight" is not bad at all. Enjoy your summer ;) |

I can right now recommend "Rivers of London" by Ben Aaronovitch. It s a bit like Harry Potter for grown ups. There are two follow ups which I am desperately awaiting.
Enjoy! Mietz

I would recommend The Shadow of the wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
"In 2001 he published the novel La sombra del viento (The Shadow of the Wind), his first "adult" novel, which has sold millions of copies worldwide and more than a million copies in the UK alone. Since its publication, La sombra del viento has garnered critical acclaim around the world and has won many international awards" (wikipedia)
