Are they right?

Can you check if these sentences are right? I m little confused about them.

I did  not know where most of the people were from.

Some of the time we spend at work are exhaustive.

She nearly cried at the dog that came near arm hurt and cut

They were seated at a largely table and talked for a long time

Thanks in advance !

I did not know where most of the people were from. OK

Some of the time we spend at work is exhausting.
(but the I m not sure if this is what is meant)
She nearly cried at the dog that came near arm hurt and cut
These words don t make sense. Is her arm already injured? (cut?) or is she afraid the dog is going to bite her?

She nearly cried when the dog came near her sore arm.

She nearly cried when the dog looked as if it was going to bite her arm.

They were seated at a large table and they talked for a long time.
or
They talked for a long time seated at a large table.

Apodo s suggestions are good. It should be is exhausting , not exhaustive. Exhausting means it wears you out / makes you tired. Exhaustive means thorough/complete.
