Hi everyone!

This is a question a group of my Ss asked me last week:

In Argentina , some people call a foster mother  "a mother of the heart" . Would this be the correct translation for it?  Or does it mean anything different?

Could you make this clear fos us?

Thanks in advance.

And have a lovely week!  =)

From Dictionary.com:

foster

[faw-ster, fos-ter]
verb (used with object)
1. to promote the growth or development of; further; encourage: to foster new ideas.
2. to bring up, raise, or rear, as a foster child.
3. to care for or cherish.

So "mother of the heart" isn t much of a translation of "foster", but it is a wonderful sentiment.
