Hi everyone!

What is the difference between English for specific purposes and English for special purposes?

Thanks in advance!

It would be very helpful to know some context for your question. There is a big difference in meaning between "specific" and "special", but the two phrases you give are not really clear as to what they would mean.

If I need English for selling my company s product in an English-speaking country, then that woud be using English for a specific purpose. I really don t know what would be meant by "English for special purposes". What brought on the question?
