Hi teachers,
Could you help me to understand the difference between these words: "takeaway" and "ready-cooked"??? Thanks))))) |

You buy a ready cooked meal at a supermarket and warm it up (if necessary) at home.
A takeaway is food from a restaurant, already cooked and ready to eat when you get it home.

Takeaway or takeout is used when you eat restaurant food at home.
Ready cooked meals can also be referred to as TV dinners or a frozen dinners. You just warm them up (or nuke them ) in the microwave and Bob s your uncle. Slightly more work than takeaway. You need to warm it up and and chew.
To add another type of meal let s include the liquid meal or liquid lunch. I m sure you ll be able to figure out what that means. Not even chewing required. ;) |
