Hi guys ,
One of my students came up to me today and asked me do i have any good songs for her to sing. she is entering a competition very soon and she has chosen to sing.
She is an eleven year old and for her age her english is above average.
I had a quick look online and couldnt find anything decent. I was wondering if you had any idea s?

Also this same girl has to choose a subject or topic to learn and talk about for a few minutes infront of the examiners . Last year she spoke and wrote about saving the enviroment, she has also spoken about her home country China and she has also spoken about her talents in previous years of the competition. Do any of you have any suggestions on what her topic could be for this year?

All suggestions would be greatfully appriciated

Thanks flynny

Miley Cyrus "the climb" it is about pursuing dreams.... "Never say never" Justin Bieber about persistence...... "Who says"Selena Gomez ... selfconfidence ... I think that your student should choose a song with a theme that she can talk about later ... I believe that the previous songs would suit the competition.

Hope it helped
Have a nice day flynny

Hey Flynny  :)

I might have an idea for you. I think the way to go about this is to  ask her what s important to her in her life. The theme she should work on has to be something that she feels about. It could be anything from friends to family to helping out other people and not being selfish. I am pretty sure that she felt strongly about the environment and that it was the reason why she chose to discuss it last year.

If she needs inspiration, here is a link to a beautiful song:

Hope this helps!

I just came across this Label "Playing for change". What they do is amazing. Maybe it will inspire your student. This is a song adaptation of "Imagine" by John Lennon.
