Can you help me with one sentence?

Yolandaprieto

Can you help me with one sentence?

I wonder whether the following sentence is correct or not: "How long is the carpet in width and length?"
If not, can you help me to write it correctly?
Thanks in advance for your always helpful pieces of advice
Yolanda

I would rather say "How wide and how long is the carpet?".
I hope it helps.

How long and how wide is the carpet?/ What s the width and length of the carpet? - both are fine.

You could even ask, "What are the dimensions of the carpet?" But don t be surprised if some smart aleck also gave you the depth of the carpet: "It is 20 long, 15 wide, and has .5" pile."
