1- Earthquakes happen in most regions of the world
2- Miriam s father probably took an earthquake preparation class
3- earthquakes can kill thousands of people in seconds

and all of the following statments were mentioned in the text because of that i got confused to decide

I think it s statement 4, for there s some judgement in it.

In sentence 3, the modal "can" may also express some personal judgement.

#4 is the opinion, which can possibly be backed up with facts. The other three statements can be proven or refuted by the facts.

Earthquakes happen in most regions of the world: look at where earthquakes have occurred since records have been kept.

Miriam s father probably took an earthquake preparation class: this is a belief that is easily proven or disproven by asking Miriam s father or by checking class records.

Earthquakes can kill thousands of people in seconds: check records of earthquakes and see if thousands of people died that quickly in any of them.

Science is getting better at predicting earthquakes: what is "better"? More precise time? More accurate location? More precise prediction of strength? That an earthquake will happen at all? The cause of a particular earthquake? The term "better" is so imprecise that it is almost impossible to determine whether or not the condition of "better prediction" has been met. Therefore, this is the opinion.
