Games and ideas for kids aged 7 and 9

Dear colleages,
Tomorrow, Im starting teaching two children aged 7 and 9 at the same time. It is not because they need help with exercises, grammar... but for practising oral speaking through games, songs... I have some ideas but I need more. Could you help me, please? Thanks in advance!!!

check my "Who am I?"  ws

Your students can use the words, doctor, mechanic, singer...  they then have to describe what this person does.

It could also be used as a guessing game.  I think I sent you an email about it??

Also, take a look at this site:

http://www.esl-galaxy.com/board.htm

you will find alot of printable board games, which encourage/require students to talk.

If all else fails, you can watch short educational cartoons/programs and discuss them afterwards.

Hope this helps
sarah

Hi Inma,
Some ideas:
- Numbers: play darts, jump rope, play bingo, draw numbers with your finger on their backs and they guess, hopscotch.
- Clothes: youve already downloaded my ws with games, activities and projects on this topic that you can adapt to teach other topics.
- Colours: use Mir paintings, you can teach shapes too, mix primary colours, Memory game.
- Body: play Twister, statue game.
- Animals: go to the zoo, a farm

Play online games:

Read books online: www.lookybook.com
Sing (youve got tons of great resources but if you need more songs just tell me and Ill send you mp3 files)
Act out simple dialogues

Hope this helps. Just ask if you need further explanations of the games.

Big hug
