This is a regional term, used in the eastern United States. One of the premier collegiate sports institutions is the Atlantic Coast Conference, abbreviated ACC. The -ubation is taken from incubation, nurturing a young animal or plant until it is ready to survive on its own. So accubation is the development of young athletes until they are ready to play collegiate sports at such fine sports schools as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Georgia Tech, or the University of Miami - Florida. |
