I agree with brslhelen. Two syllable adjectives get -er or -est only if they end in "y". I have seen some exceptions though: narrow => narrower, quiet => quieter

I would like to point out that there is no "sambre" in English; perhaps you mean somber or sombre. I would also disagree with more or most reddish and use redder and reddest instead. "Reddish" means slightly or somewhat red, so more so would be redder. Other than that, I agree with brslhelen �s answers. |

I agree with MoodyMoody about "reddish". Grammatically, more/the most reddish works, but it really doesn �t work in meaning. Saying that this apple is "more somewhat red" than that one just doesn �t sound good. Bruce |
