I need a free-online ESL dictionary!

Hello everyone! I hope you are great!

The thing is that Im looking for an ESL dictionary. I mean, a dictionary where I can find the pedagogic definitions of the ESL theorys terms!

Do you know any source?

Thanks in advance!!!Thumbs Up

I ve used "merriam webster" online, a really good tool. It gives definitions and different uses.

Hope it is useful

"Wordreference" is one of my favourite. If you like something a bit more "original" try "visuword", it s awsome!

Hello Melissa EFL
I agree with Missanny that Visuwords is a very unique and useful online dictionary.
As well, Dictionary.com provides definitions for pedagogic terms and has a pronunciation button and a link to see words used in context in sentences.
If you need a teaching resource for your library you may want to look at the Longman Dictionary of Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics by Jack C Richards and Richard Schmidt from Pearson Education.
All the best.

If you want to look up terms related to language teaching you can check
  this glossary ,
  the Cambridge one
Teaching foreign languages is a good one
Heads up English is very good also

For words in general, I think this could help. It s a link to lots of dictionaries, including Merriam-Webster s, Collins and lots of others.

I hope it helps
