looking for a specefic term

Hi there,
I wanted to know which term is most appropriate to refer to the  documents enclosed with a letter of application. Is it the term file, enclosure, folder or simply attached/ enclosed documents? Thanks in advance.

Hi!

I would say that it depends on how you send the application.
In the good old days, before e-mail, you would send a letter and at the bottom under your signature you would write Enc. (short for enclosed) and then a list of the documents you have added. I would call them enclosed documents.

In my experience it is becoming more common to send applications by E-mail. These documents are visible at the top of the mail therefore I don t write enc at the bottom. I would call them Attached documents in this case.

Hope that that answers you question
Cindy
