"Tangled"

Hey,

Let me ask you; you are in a relationship, or single.

Here in Brazil there is one status that is in the middle. It s like you are not dating and not single, you are hooking up with someone.

We say that the person is "tangled, wrapped". But I am quite sure it doesnt make sense in English.

Could you help me find some informal word to mean what I want?

I can t think of an adjective to describe what you mean, but a noun phrase that is very popular in the USA is "friends with benefits," There s no interest in a long-term relationship, just a friend who will have sex with you. It s an odd concept to me, but then I m a middle-aged fogey.

Hey, Mari, what do you mean? Is that "ficar com algum"? There is no translation for that. What Moody Moody said "friends with benefits" should be "amizade colorida" (that you don t hear much nowadays).
