land/ sea animals

Is it correct to say: land and sea animals? Or should I rather use the terms: terrestrial animals for the ones that live predominantly on land and aquatic animals (for those that live in water).

in my opinion there is no problem as I read, some days agon in an American book about sea turtles "land animals" and "sea animals".

Yes, definitely "land and sea animals". The other terms are very formal.
