Do you know any interesting and useful webpage(s)?

Hi! I m in charge of a group of adults. They re true beginners. The class is oriented to oral communication. They don t have a textbook. That s why I have to plan each lesson addapting material from the web. The topics they ve seen are verb to Be (present and past), Present Simple, Present Continuous( also with the idea of arranged plans for the future), and now they are learning simple past with regular verbs. I don t give them lots of grammar explanations. But, sometimes I start feeling running out of ideas. I ve been searching for some useful pages oriented to oral communication for true beginners but I couldn t find anything. If you know some web sites or you have some ideas of what I could do, I d be glad to know your answers!! Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Apart from the ideas above, I do a lot of repetition with my adult learners (zero English level). Like yourself, we don t have textbooks. Despite complaint from my boss, I hand out copies of my own handbook . In all ten pages, with the topics you mentioned, but I included nouns, articles, plurals and the simple prepositions. As they come across grammatical words, I do teach simple grammar, without really calling it as such. It just happens to go with the conversations. This wonderful website helped me with many one-page explanations and overviews on the above subjects and especially those with pictures are well received. After all pictures say more than words. We repeat things a lot, as repetition is the key to learning (especially for adults). So the only things that are different are the sentences. At first they repeat after me, sometimes word by word, but when they start to repeat short sentences, they have to do it between themselves in small groups. I also use a lot of PPT s, as I have an Interactive White Board, and my SS love to come up to help me. This helps to get their confidence up, and thus they manage role plays in front of the others as well. That we do the same thing over and over again doesn t seem to bother anyone. Hope this helps, cheers.
