 words like "donor-teacher-activist" are called............... nouns   whereas words like donation /activism/ teaching  are calle general  nouns

These are common nouns.
 
You can read more on noun types here
 
Often, (as douds said) with these nouns, there are two types (But I am unaware of the actual term given to these)
the person e.g. donor, educator, collaborator
the noun form of their action e.g. donation, education, collaboration
