Which one is correct?

The Everest is the highest mountain

Everest is the highest mountain

I would say "Mount Everest is the highest mountain".  Second, if we are already naming several others, I might say "Everest is the highest one." 

"The Everest" may be grammatically correct, but it is not natural English.

I think that the use of the article the here is more correct as the everest is unique like  the sun ,the Moon or the pyramids  . When we have something  special in its kind we use  "the"

"Everest is the highest mountain...."  

(Everest is a proper name of a single mountain--you also wouldn �t say "The Douglas is  a nice guy."

Why don �t you go with "Mount Everest is the highest..."
When in doubt, modify the sentence. That �s my strategy. Wink
