Project ideas for small children.

Hi Guys,

Soon I have to start project days with small children (groups of 10 kids aged between 3 and 7), which means up to two hours on one subject. The kids cant write yet so it is quite difficult finding new ideas all the time. Does anyone have experience in things like this? I have used the usual... Hungry Caterpillar and Three bears etc... Need something new and exciting.

I would love any ideas you have tried and tested...   Thanks Yeti xx

Games are exciting and we can do so many creative things.

Try to give a letter or/and a colour each day and work with the letter or/and the colour.

Lotto with colours, letters, small words

You could make playdough  or salt dough
2 cups plain flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
Mix together
and students can mould letters with the dough.
You can put the letters in the oven to dry completely and they can paint them.

Songs songs songs.
Kids love them and they learn language.

How about my Monster:

Step 01) Take a piece of A4 paper (1 for each child) and fold it in half (horizontally)

Step 02) Fold the paper again (horizontally)

Step 03) Making sure the children have the top part tell them to draw a monsters face.

Step 04) Collect the papers and swap them around. Now tell the kids to draw a monsters body

Step 05) repeat for legs and feet.

Step 06) Now open the paper and show the children their monsters.

Notes: Make sure the children are drawing on the correct side. Children love this game.

Hi, I am working with students of the same age. I just right now wanted to unload some ideas for art work with them. I am working on it now as I want it to be with some pictures to understand better.
By the way I would advise to use normal playdough as kids usually mix all colors together getting only blackish grey dough and also as a result all tables and floor can be sticky and dirty.
I quit this idea very fast.
Will try to finish and upload ideas asap.
Take care
