 It is a BREAK-FASTING  BEEPER. Grand-pa who was a caller to prayer used to have one. He asked my father to use it whenever he fell ill and couldn īt make the sun set athan by himself during Ramadan. On hearing the beep sound, villagers rushed to their homes to  break their fasting .
