poems about racism and the environemt

I need your help for a school activity. Does anyone know any poem/poems about slavery or the environment for teen students, with only 4 years of english language study?
We are going to develop a poetry session, with students reading poetry connected with these two themes: racism and the environment. In this session we also want to have music as a background and power points.
I have already discovered a few songs (one or two) but I dont find any good poems for this level.
Please...help me!

How about Gimme Hope Joanna by Eddie Grant. You can read about Joanna (i.e. Johannesburg) on wikipedia, i think. I did the song when doing South Africa and apartheid.

Bob MArleys song "Redemption Song" would go perfectly to suit your needs.

If his original version doesnt strike you as good, you might want to look for Chris Cornells on Youtube.
