  Hi dear friends,
  
  What do you think about these changes into reported speech?

1-        I didn�t break it. It�s a lie- said the student.

The student explained that he hadn�t broken it and that it was a lie

 

2-       �You must not use that book. If you need it, ask me first �- said the teacher

The teacher warned me not to use that book  and  he suggested that if I needed it ask for it first

 

3-       If you ever take my car again. I tell it to your daddy  Paul said

Paul warned me that if I   ever took his car , he would tell it to my  daddy.

4-       I know you are having a lot of exams. I can stay in classroom   to give you a hand�- The teacher said.

The teacher offered to stay in classroom  to give me a hand because he knew I was having a lot exams.

 

5-       Where did you hide your friend�s keys?- said Ann

Ann asked me when I had hidden my friend�s keys

6-       I never told him  a secret. Please believe me. � He said

He said that he had never told him a secret  and begged me to believe him

 

7-       This motorbike  is expensive.  We could try to find a cheaper one�- Said Peter to the shop assistant

Peter explained to the shop assistant that that motorbike was very expensive and he suggested trying to find a cheaper one

I would use denied in the first sentence instead of explained. The student denied he had broken it/having broken it and he claimed it was a lie.

Below are my siggestions:

The student said it was a lie that he had broken it.

1. The student denied breaking it and said that it was a lie. 2. The teacher told me that I must not use that book, and added if I needed it to ask him/ her first. 3. Paul threatened to tell my father if I ever took his car again. 6. He insisted that he had never told him a secret and begged me to believe him.
