I �d like to ask you about the following sentenses .can we consider both of them grammatically correct? She has sat there for the whole day. She sat there for the whole day Thank you .

Yes, both are correct but the meaning is different. SHE HAS SAT THERE FOR THE WHOLE DAY means that when you are speaking she is still sitting at the same place whereas when you say SHE SAT THERE FOR THE WHOLE DAY means she left long ago when you are speaking. Hope it helps. Have a good day.
