Errands are things like doing the shopping, picking up something from somewhere, taking a message to somebody, mailing stuff, going to the bank, paying bills, etc.

I am off on errands now. See you later.
I am off to do some errands.
I have to do some errands.
I �m on an errand of mercy. (You are helping someone)

Errands include the things listed by Zora.
