Thinking about it again, it �s quite often used with �keep �... �She will keep shouting out in class. � I suppose �she keeps shouting out.. � is similar in meaning, but using �will � makes it a more conscious effort on �her � part. If you said this to a parent about a student, it would imply more annoyance on your part with the student.

Redcamarocruiser gives som excellent examples of US usage. It is definitely common, although we are as likely to use the present simple in these sentences.
