Hello everyone,
We say pay a fine,  face a fine, but what about when the police gives it?
What verb can we use?
The police ___________ me  a $100 fine.

You can say "give a fine" or more formally "impose a fine on someone
 
Also, "fine" can be used as a verb:
The police fined him or he was fined by the police.
