							| Yangon, Myanmar
 |
							| Does anyone know anything about Yangon, or Rangoon, which is, or used to be the capital of Myanmar? I am considering applying to do a year s teaching there. (Please don t vote this spam!) | 17 Jan 2015

							| Thanks Sophia - the links are great. I enjoyed the youtube clip. Myanmar is the modern name for Burma. I didn t know that until I saw the job advert. I am thinking about doing VSO. I used to be adventurous and maybe there is one last adventure in me. The kids are grown up, Steve will look after the cat... I could do a year. Anyway, I ve got the application off, so let s see what happens. I hope I don t chicken out... | 18 Jan 2015

							| Hi Lynne   Teaching in Myanmar would be very rewarding. I have many adult students from refugee camps in Myanmar and these students are just lovely.   I would highly recommend that you consult your govts travel advice to Myanmar though, before making a decision. There are many factors that may impact on your final decision.  Cheers   Jayho   P.S. If the print box opens when you click on my link, just click on cancel.    P.P.S. As a sideline, if you like Harrods and Burmese cats then youll find that this is an interesting link about pure bred Burmese cats being reintroduced to Myanmar as they were extinct there. | 18 Jan 2015
