Hey friends, Help: What does do a dance mean?

Is the collocation correct for the literal meaning? (do)

Is there a figurative meaning?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it s fine. She danced, or she did a little dance. It s not a serious dance, as in she danced in a competition . More like she had some good news and she did a dance around the room.

There is  to lead a merry dance / lead on a merry dance - Cause someone a great deal of trouble or worry

Make a song and dance about something - Make a fuss about.  (We use make in this idiom, but do is the correct collocation)
