Hi, Miss Noor! Of course it is a correct phraseWink, and I would consider it neutral (neither formal or informal). Just use it whenever you want!

Kisses from Argentina!

Hi Noor

Yes these words are used in English.  We use this informally in business and everyday situations to thank someone before the event e.g. if someone has said they will get/do something for us we can say thanks in advance .  It is more likely to be used in informal e-mails and SMS messages (than in spoken language) where, instead of using formal language we can simply add thanks in advance to the bottom of the message whereas in a  formal e-mail we might say thank you for your assistance with this matter.

Personally I wouldn t use it in formal situations but as we all know language is continually evolving and every culture has its own rules about language use.

Kind regards

Jayho
