 I need some examples with ( in addition to)

Probably the most succinct combination is Despite the extremely bad road conditions, there were no accidents. You can also change the order: There were no accidents despite extremely bad road conditions. It sounds better to me to leave out the linking verb. Gi2gi �s sentences are grammatically correct and contain the linking verb, but they seem excessively wordy to me.
