I �d like to ask about the sentences: In my bedroom there is a bed. There is a bed in my bedroom. What sentence is correct? Hope your answers. Thanks in advance. |

the first sentence needs a comma after bedroom. its more uncommon/formal to put a location phrase at the beginning of the sentence but they are essentially exactly the same and corect. |

That is a good point about location phrases normally being at the end. To me it just sounds better, but your explanation is insightful. Instead of "In this sentence there is a location phrase" we should say "There is a location phrase in this sentence". Splendid! |

It can also be used for emphasis. If you are comparing two sentences, you would say, "In this sentence there is a location phrase" (as opposed to the other sentence). Bruce |
