Dear colleagues,

 

I would like to create a school ezine and I �m looking for  web applications that are good, simple and free. Does anyone have any experience with this and would recommend  a good application? I would be really grateful for any ideas/suggestions.

Effectively, what you could do is simply set up a free blog (of which there are many) and if you use something like WordPress for it (worth spending some time to learn and not too difficult) you will be able to find a free �theme� in the form of a magazine layout. You may need to use your school�s web domain or buy a domain (can be quite cheap). There are sites that offer free blogs without your own domain, though they might have more advertising over which you �ll have little control.

 

I�ve used WordPress.com to create free blogs and I�d recommend it. It works well, is very widely used (so has support if you need help) and looks professional. They want to sell you themes and plans, but you can still achieve great results for free.

I�ve also used WordPress.org to create websites on my own domains. You have more choice and freedom, but it�s a steeper learning curve and more work.
