How will you translate this sentence in French:
Got into a fight they had and then battered the parish constable who �d tried to separate them.
I �ve got trouble finding the French words for "battered the parish constable"...

Hello, This is how I would translate your sentence: Après s �être battus, ils ont ensuite frappé l �agent de police de la commune qui avait essayé de les séparer. For me "paroisse" has a religious connatation and if your text is recent, I �d rather use "commune" or "village". Hope it helps. Murielle |
