Car - vocabulary

Hello everybody!

I need help, please!  Is this a tailgate/boot door or a rear door?

tailgate / Boot

It looks like a hatchback / 5 door car. Where I am, it would be called a rear door in the car manual and the area behind the door is the boot. We usually just refer to the boot area and not the actual door. "Can you open the boot please"

The word tailgate is not commonly used here to refer to the door, but tailgating is (driving too closely to a car in front).

Cheers

In the UK, I would think of the rear side door if you said "rear door" - for me, the picture os of the boot (not "boot door"). I would say "Can you open the boot, please?"
