Ten more words to guess

To say that something or someone is bad or to point out negative aspects

To ask someone for food or money because you do not have any

A system of government in which people elect their leaders

To send out a programme on television or the radio

Able to understand how people feel and to deal with them without hurting them

One of two or more things you can choose between

The problem of not being able to stop taking or doing something

Completely certain about something

A combination of two or more things, substances, styles

Something that you do regularly, almost without thinking about it

9 was supposed to be mixture. i ll probably add something about dough or baking to my definition
6 was supposed to be alternative. But I suppose option also works.

1. criticize, put down, dis (in US slang)
2. beg, panhandle
3. democracy, republic
4. broadcast, air
5. sensitive, empathetic, sympathetic
6. option, choice
7. addiction?
8.  sure, confident
9. mixture
10. habit

Alternative "officially" refers to only two things, but it is commonly used as in your definition.

"Adamant" means insisting on something, so it s a bit different from sure or confident.

FrauSue, you re really complicating things with all those synonyms of yours...

*deep sigh*

I tested the word lists on my students today and was shocked about how hard they found it to find the right words. But as soon as I gave them first letters, they got much better.
