Is ths correct?
Carbon offsetting means paying money to plant enough trees to reduce the same amount of CO2 in the air as it was produced by your journey.

I would also use "venture" versus "journey"
 
Carbon offsetting means paying money to plant enough trees to reduce the same amount of CO2 in the air as was produced by your venture.

Except if you are carbon offsetting your plane flight - then journey would be suitable.
