Hi Ana

The usual format for a written inscription is:

This dedication is for [name]: You are my best friend in the world
and
I dedicate this [book/poem etc]  to [name]: You are my best friend in the world.

In speaking, you could use the first option.

My dedication doesnt sound natural and the word dedicatory is definitely not common usage.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Cheers

Jayho
