Elemtary students 25-30 years old

Hi!

First of all, and like so many have already said, congratulations for the fantastic work, but above all, for the help ant the tips!
So, it s my firts year as an English teacher and I would like to know what kind of material and subjects should I give to some of my students. This students have basic knowledge of English, they have between 25 and 30 years old.
My difficulty is: I want to teach the basic but I can t give them the worksheets that I give, for example, to a 12 years old student. I also want to give them the basic grammar and vocabulary but with something that is interesting to them!

Thank you

Mia,

I teach a lot of students that fall into the same category and use a lot of the worksheets from here.  Usually I will change some of the graphics to something more fitting to their age and make minor changes like rewriting sentences dealing with parents or living at home or being in school.  My students really like the worksheets and they are a tremendous help.  I usually look for worksheets with a large number of exercises since adults can deal with a larger workload (usually).  I don t know about your students, but mine are very tolerant, if the content of the worksheet is good they dont seem to mind an occasional baby or flower as decoration.

Cheers,
Douglas

If they are beginners then it really doesn t matter what you give them because they will also be improving their vocabulary.  I wouldn t worry about it too much.

Hi, my adult students love the Fun Sheet series here and don t seem to mind that they re also for younger students. Smile

I agree with Douglas...adapt and change some of the worksheets and you should be fine.

The best of luck!!
Fiona.

I read many books that have a great story and not a very difficult vocabulary.
The more they read, the better they get, so find some topics they would like, but keep the vocabulary at their level.
