Help with meaning

Dear Colleagues,

I m working on a worksheet right now and I got stuck with some words. Dictionaries didn t help me. Could somebody tell me a proper definition for the underlined words from the quotation below?

When a verb is used with NOT ,

We add do to make the lot.

This is urgent!

Hello, I think it means " to make it complete".

Dear Imola,

I agree with Mariya-ye.

It is a two-line Poem, (which is probably for little children).

"When a verb is used with NOT ,
We use DO to make the lot."

=     "When a verb is in the Negative Form, and uses the negative word NOT ,
"We add the word DO , to make the sentence complete."

An EXAMPLE

Positive Form: "I like bananas."
Negative         "I not like bananas."      This is not correct English.
Negative Form "I  do not like bananas".   This IS CORRECT ENGLISH.

I hope that this helps you.
