Dear colleagues!
I run a language school in St.Petersburg, Russia and there we have a lot of students who are willing to do something together with their peers all around the globe.
This year we ve started using Google Classroom as it was open to all types of educational projects world-wide. It is a convenient and safe way to start an international project as one digital classroom can hold up to 250 members (both teachers and students)
What is the project going to be like:
- it is based on monthly tasks for video-letters on different topics, videos shot and uploaded by teachers, students can comment (and teachers can moderate their comments) and discuss the videos online.
- we can have different classrooms for students of different levels and ages so that they can contact each other easily
- students can also write each other emails using their google accounts later, if they want to
The project can help our student to develop their speaking and video presenting skills and also learn a lot about real life in different countries.
We have Elementary students of 9 to 12 years old (parents must be informed and supervise the project), Intermediate students of 11 to 15 years old and Upper-Intermediate students of 12 to 17 years old (the last two groups are already using Google Classroom successfully)
Happy teaching!
Catherine
