Could you help me with the sentence, please? It was my money and credit cards that WERE OR WAS in my purse. Or both are ok? Thanx in advance

Of course  were because    of credit cards   that are in plural .

I agree about "were", but not for that reason. This isn�t like there is/there are, which depends on the number of the noun that follows it. There are two things listed, so it�s "were".
 
It was a quarter and a dime that were missing from my desk drawer.
