What do diamonds do?

I think sparkling is best because its more active and twinkly. Shiny is kind of a state - it reflects light in a uniform way. So the gold ring is shiny, but the diamond sparkles because the light dances and moves as if it were alive.

The sun shines, but bubbly water sparkles because the bubbles are moving.

What is that in French, please?
Un diamant tincelant? Does it have to be that, or are there any commonly used alternatives?
Thanks if anyone can help.

étincelant, brillant ou scintillant. ( depending on the kind of light..) You also have chatoyant and rutilant ( very often refers to a red "light" , but not always…)
