An original poem by Frank (as published in Unicorns and Dragonflies 2011)
Where would you write your name
I wrote my name on the sands
It was washed away by the seas
I carved my name from the clouds
It was blown away by the breeze
I then wrote it on a blackboard
It was quickly rubbed out
Who will remember my name?
And would it help if I shout?
I tried writing it down on paper
And that was eventually lost
I wrote it in my gardens flowers
But they were killed by the frost
Ive written my name in many places
In prose and even in rhyme
I wrote my name in the heart of a friend
And there it stayed for a lifetime
Frank, you wrote your name in the hearts of many of us here who will remember you for our lifetime and with fond memories of your endless energy and enthusiasm you had for poetry, our two global publications and your absolutely delightful radio show. Also, it was you who started Word of the Day back in 2010 which has seen many people participate in and learn from. Frank, may you now rest in peace.
Thinking of your family at this very, very sad time.
Sara, many thanks for letting us know.
Jayho
P.S. Frank published a wonderful poem about this site, and Ill post it in the cafe later today.
