which one is correct?
|
Hello, everybody! I taught my students about the past perfect tense several days ago. It went smooth until I had to decide the most correct sentence. Could any of you help me to choose which one is the correct statement? a. I had just arrived at the party when it finished. b. I just arrived at the party when it had finished. Thank you very much for all your help. |

Option a) is correct. To bring it one step closer in time, I arrived at the party just as it finished/ was finishing. Story of my life these days!

from the two choices offered I would go with: "I had just arrived at the party when it finished" (had and just fit better together) |
